ChromaLuxe archival .045 inch HD aluminum panels, coated with a very fine multiple-layer polymer finish, the industry standard for professional photographers and artists

Whether paper, canvas, or metal, every print we offer is archival
Pigment inks produce this longevity in our paper and canvas prints. Pigment ink consists of opaque, crystalline pigments suspended in an ink solution. The description “pigment ink print” specifies, in photographic shorthand, a digital process in which a large-format inkjet printer, guided by a master file originating in a digital camera, sprays extremely fine droplets of pigment inks onto fine art paper or canvas. The color of the pigment ink determines its crystalline structure, and this rigid structure gives pigment ink its extraordinary resistance to fading as well as, after being absorbed, its extraordinary resistance to warping and mildew. The longevity of our metal prints stems from a different process, dye-sublimation: after printing the image, with special dye sub inks, onto a fine art transfer paper, a heat press at 400 degrees infuses the inks into the polymer coating of a very thin aluminum panel. Through extensive testing by Wilhelm Imaging Research, pigment ink prints and dye-sublimation metal prints, just like those we offer below, have been certified as archival, meaning that, properly hung or stored, they should last without fading for over a century!

To order
Please use the Contact page to send me an email which includes the full image title, the kind of print
(canvas, paper, or metal), the size of the print, and your mailing address. The sizes listed below are just examples; in general, larger and intermediate sizes may be ordered as well, as long as the proportion is 2 : 3.

Option A: Archival Cotton Rag Paper Prints
Produced by a large-format Canon imagePROGRAF inkjet printer using 11-color Lucia Pro archival pigment inks on archival Canson or Canson-Arches cotton rag paper, prints arrive flat in a sturdy box or (for larger sizes) rolled inside a sturdy tube, with my signature in the white border just below the image (or, if you prefer, with no signature) and a signed Certificate of Authenticity providing information about your print, including the title, capture date, and medium. The print will need to be mounted, matted, and framed..

       image size     price (print alone)
         8 x 12                     $115
         10 x 15                       $120
         13 x 19.5                    $135
         16 x 24                       $150
20 x 30 $160

Because preferences in mat color and frame type will vary from person to person, we leave those choices to you. My own matting and framing preferences: a white mat leaving a narrow strip of the white border uncovered all around the image, just wide enough to make the signature visible, together with a simple black or white frame.

Option B: Archival Canvas Prints
Produced by a large-format Epson inkjet printer using UltraChrome GS3 HD archival pigment inks on Breathing Color’s archival cotton blend Urth canvas, prints arrive mounted on 1.5 inch poplar stretcher bars and ready to hang — a canvas print, in contrast to a paper print, requires neither mat nor frame — with my (quiet) signature on the side (or, if you prefer, with no signature) and a signed Certificate of Authenticity providing information about your print, including the title, capture date, and medium.

print size    price (mounted, ready to hang)
         12 x 18                        $175
         16 x 24                        $195
         20 x 30                        $230
         24 x 36                        $260
         32 x 48                        $370

Option C: Archival Metal Prints
A large-format F-series Epson inkjet printer (designed specifically for dye sublimation printing on metal) using special Epson dye sublimation inks renders the image on a fine art transfer paper. Then an HD sublimation heat press infuses that image into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel. Panels arrive ready to hang, with the title and my signature stamped into the back of the panel and a Certificate of Authenticity providing information about your print, including the title, capture date, print date, and medium.

print size    price (mounted, ready to hang)
10 x 15. $125
         12 x 18                        $140
         16 x 24                        $200
         20 x 30                        $260
         24 x 36                        $330
         32 x 48                        $680
